+We give you a revenue range — low, expected, and high — not a single number. The range is based on UK footfall estimates, local competition, demographics, and business rates data. Think of it as a sanity check: it won't tell you exactly what you'll earn, but it will flag whether a location is broadly viable or has serious risks. The more optional details you fill in, the tighter the range becomes.
What data does Sitewise use?
+All our data is UK-specific. We use local footfall estimates, business rates from the VOA register, competitor mapping, demographic data from the ONS, and transport and accessibility information. We don't scrape social media or rely on user reviews — the inputs are grounded in public, verifiable datasets.
Is Sitewise really free?
+You get 2 free location checks — no sign-up, no card. Each check gives you a full result: revenue range, fit score, drivers, and red flags. After that, extra checks are £3 each, or you can unlock unlimited checks, side-by-side comparisons, and the seasonal revenue curve for a one-off payment of £7. No subscription, no recurring charges.
What types of business does it work for?
+We currently support cafés, coffee shops, restaurants, takeaways, hair and beauty salons, retail shops, gyms and fitness studios, pubs, bars, and bakeries. Each type uses different benchmarks — a salon has different footfall needs to a takeaway. We're adding more business types regularly.
Can I share my results with someone?
+Yes. After running a check, you can share the page link directly — the URL updates with your postcode and business type so anyone with the link can see the same view. If you need to include results in a business plan, you can screenshot or print the page.
Can I use Sitewise for a franchise location?
+You can — though the revenue benchmarks are based on independent businesses. If you're assessing a franchise location, the fit score, competition, and demand data are still useful. Your franchisor may provide their own revenue projections, and Sitewise gives you an independent cross-check.
How is this different from just looking at the area myself?
+Visiting a location tells you how it feels — which matters. But it doesn't tell you the local footfall patterns, how many competitors are within walking distance, whether the rent is high for the area, or what a realistic revenue range looks like.
